VBA report editora good detailing package requires good reports. To generate custom reports from tekla structures, you have two methods:1- Excel report: this one requires some knowledge of html code.2- ordinary textual reports: these reports are exported from tekla structures in xsr extension and have horrible format when viewed.for people with no knowledge in html code, using the second method to export reports with the required data and editing its format to look more readable is a good choice. However it takes longer time to edit bigger data.In this case we used to export 2 separate tekla reports from the templates already installed with the environment then joined the required data into 1 report and edited its format. Ofcourse this method had its disadvantages and we ended up in some false data and had to spend more time to fix it.for a quick solution-as I already knew how to write VBA code-, I made a custom report in tekla structures and wrote a VBA script to automatically edit the report.#teklastructures #tekla #steeldetailing #vbaexcel
