The Chief of Staff to the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) is a key position within the Yahoo DSP Business Operations & Strategy (BOS) Team. The BOS team partners with the DSP leaders to prepare executive presentations, run business operations, drive leadership team rhythm, strengthen team communications, plan, execute and monitor strategic initiatives, run team budgets, etc. BOS partners with multiple groups across Yahoo on communication, financials, B2B events and marketing, analytics and dashboards etc.
The Chief of Staff will report to the BOS Leader and will be dedicated to supporting the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO).
We are seeking an exceptional communicator, storyteller, team player, coordinator/ operator, and culture builder. Prior experience in similar roles with a track record of running executive communications, working with cross-functional senior leaders and teams and demonstrated success with complex projects requiring attention to detail and keeping timelines, is required. Knowledge of the ad tech/ advertising/ media industry is a plus.
The job is remote, with alignment to NY timezone. Some travel required to meet with key stakeholders and/or participate in or prepare for team events, offsites, etc.
Executive presentations preparation:
Responsible for all presentations and materials coming from the CRO Office, in collaboration with internal teams as appropriate
Responsible for understanding the goals, agenda, role of the CRO; and building the DSP storyline, content structure
Responsible for either writing, and/or coordinating the content, ensuring the most up to date data and slides are used from each group - e.g., DSP strategy, product, sales, GTM, etc.
Responsible for the workplan management for each event preparation, and for delivering on time. Ensure the CRO has sufficient time to review, provide feedback, multiple iterations, and final approval; as well as script prep and coordination with other executives as needed.
Executive presentations - content and prep as needed
Various weekly/ quarterly CEO/ CFO materials and commentary/ prep
Annual planning - coordinate the storytelling with CRO, gather content from all leaders, coordinate, organize, prep deck and scripts
Strategic Initiatives and similar CEO/L2-level projects
Internal communications:
Author and/or coordinator of all internal communication activities such as CRO comms, internal announcements/emails, reminders, etc.. Provide guidance and sync with Biz Ops leads across the organization.
Act as the central connector and liaison between CRO and relevant internal Yahoo partners / corporate offices for Yahoo-level events, leadership forums, corporate comms (staff meetings, Yahoo Open House, Yahoo comms, etc)
In collaboration with the appropriate Sales/ strategy leads, drive the internal comms rollouts of appropriate materials to the organization, to ensure clarity on strategy, priorities, GTM etc.
Encourage and drive programs that celebrate recognition, accolades and enriches individuals in the org - LEADs awards etc.
Content Management for standing internal site, slack channel, etc.
Various Meeting Prep (i.e. the Financial Rev Sprint) - document prep / print, coordination with internal teams, shadow invites
DSP Quarterly Business Review - PM alongside with DSP Strategy leads + BOS leads; coordinate and ensure the updated content is used for other events like DSP Offsites, board decks etc.
WIN and other internal Yahoo initiatives - partner with Global Cabinet leads on agenda for monthly meetings, support on business planning
Leadership team cohesion:
In collaboration with CRO and other leads, drive the continued cohesion of the Leadership team
Evolve and plan the business rhythm of the CRO organization through annual business cycle, leadership team meeting cadences, and key business events like quarterly offsites, All Hands.
Set the CRO team meeting/ events goals and agenda and run the meetings. Proactively identify opportunities, challenges and evolution of communication and event plans to align with team/business goals
Facilitate all meeting & event content preparation: compile content, ensure presenters and participants are prepared in advance (content, analysis, etc.), summarize key takeaways and ensure they are followed-up on
Manage meeting follow ups - ensure POCs/ responsibilities are understood, communicate with the relevant BOS support peers in each group
Key internal events include but are not limited to:
CRO Weekly Staff Meeting - content check / agenda creation with CRO; coordinate with guests
DSO Offsites - not responsible, but coordinate on agenda, planning, logistics, content coordination, with the relevant BOS leads
All Hands - agenda, logistics, content, CRO script
Partner with the external comms/ PR teams. Provide the business POV, goals, storyline, participate in content discussions. Draft content if needed, or work with PR/ comms team.
Regularly update CRO and comms team on annual plans, tracking, speaker engagements across CRO (CRO and other leads), etc.
Work closely with the B2B marketing team on building together the communications, panels etc. portions of our key industry partnerships. Collaborate with B2B Marketing team on updating the annual plans for partners and engagements.
Key external communication initiatives include, but are not limited to:
Brand & Agency Advisory Council Support - partner with B2B marketing and sales/ product leads, to build agenda, prepare topics, content, speakers
PR support - maintain pulse on upcoming announcements, coordinate timely CRO prep, reviews and approvals. Collaborate with Marketing and PR teams on social media distribution as needed
Industry Event Prep - coordination with CRO and internal teams on speakerships / panels / client meetings for industry events (e.g., CES, Cannes, AdWeek, etc.). Ensure timely coordination, reviews and approvals from PR team, and other teams if needed (e.g., HR, legal)
Other:
Work closely with the other BOS support POCs across Y4B Organization, and collectively drive to customer-centricity, scale, sharing and visibility, best in class approaches to operational excellence
Always stay up to date on the strategy and plans/ priorities for the Y4B Organization and Yahoo overall; be the ambassador and advocate across peers, leaders, and team members, across Yahoo
Qualifications:
Min 7 years experience in a similar role and/or internal communications, executive communications, project management and initiative coordination for complex cross functional initiatives in medium or large organizations
Excellent ability to listen, understand, and translate senior leadership needs, scope projects accordingly, negotiate objectives and deliverables, and activate the organization to deliver results
Excellent written and verbal communication capability across all levels, including the c-suite
Very strong organization skills and attention to detail; loves operating things; ability to manage multiple work streams without sacrificing quality
Track record working on high-priority, cross-functional initiatives; working in complex organizations to align multiple levels of stakeholders. Experience running leadership meetings/ agendas/ events
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, lean organization amidst a shifting competitive landscape
Curiosity and a desire to constantly innovate, challenge the status quo, and break glass when needed to achieve better outcomes and results
Ability to work both independently and in a highly collaborative environment

The compensation for this position ranges from $102,000.00 - $212,500.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
