Paige DeSorbo Says She Picks Out Her Outfits to Match 'Whatever co*cktail I'm Drinking that Night' (Exclusive) (2024)

Summer may only last for a few months in New York, but Summer House star and New York City resident Paige DeSorbo likes to keep the vacation vibe going long after its over.

“I truly do live the lifestyle of summer all year long,” DeSorbo, 31, tells PEOPLE.

Hence why she partnered with Malibu for its summer campaign that encourages people to unlock vacation anytime, anywhere.

“The first drink I've ever drank as a legal 21-year-old was a Malibu Bay Breeze,” says DeSorbo. “I didn't know what it was and my friend's mom made it for me. That was my introduction into adulthood, really.”

Now, DeSorbo has her own signature Malibu drink, the Malibu Paige Breeze, which mixes Malibu liqueur with sparkling water, cranberry juice and pineapple juice.

And as a style expert, of course she coordinates the co*cktail with what she wears. “When I know I'm going out somewhere, I like to match my outfit to whatever co*cktail I'm drinking that night and I pick the co*cktail based on my outfit, obviously,” DeSorbo says. “The Paige Malibu Breeze, that's a little bit pinky, a little orange, so perfect for summer outfits.”

The new Malibu campaign also acknowledges that many of us can be different people on vacation, and Malibu wants everyone to be their vacation selves year round. To do that, Malibu partnered with ResortPass to offer the Vacation You cabana experience in cities around the country and teamed up with LSPACE to put together a tote bag that includes all of the summer essentials that can make any destination feel like a getaway.

“I would describe my vacation self like my regular self — usually pretty sleepy but also ready to put a good outfit on and have a good time,” DeSorbo says. “You can't ever let your vacation self get too far away.”

The reality star says her boyfriend, Southern Charm’s Craig Conover, “is always on vacation.”

“Vacation Craig is all year round,” she continues. “He is always ready to have fun. I am more the one that's like, ‘We can stay in and not socialize one night.’ But he's always up for a good time. He's actually probably more vacation all the time than I am.”

DeSorbo notes that Conover, 35, “has an advantage” when it comes to living the vacation lifestyle 24/7 because he lives by the ocean in Charleston, S.C. Meanwhile, “we are in the concrete,” DeSorbo says of New Yorkers. “We have to make do.”

The Giggly Squad podcast cohost tries to treat visiting Conover in South Carolina like a vacation. “I like to go down there and not look at my phone for the whole time,” she says. “I very much treat Craig's backyard as my personal pool and he's my pool boy and waits on me. I should get a bell.”

Even though filming her own Bravo show in the Hamptons, N.Y., counts as work, it feels like a vacation, too, for DeSorbo “because we have to drive four hours to get there” from New York City, she says. The fashion influencer loves bringing along Malibu’s canned co*cktails because she considers them to be “the perfect boat drink.”

“At least one time a year we go out on a boat during Summer House and the easiest thing to pack are canned drinks,” DeSorbo says. “You can fit a lot in your bag.”

Next month, DeSorbo will take an international vacation with her family to Italy.

“I go on my family vacation every year and I think that's my favorite vacation,” DeSorbo says. “My friends are so much fun but they're just not as fun as my dad. If there's anyone that has a good time on vacation — and is getting me to the pool and getting a co*cktail — it's my dad, so I'm very excited.”

Conover scored an invite, too. “Craig is definitely family vacation approved,” DeSorbo says. “We approved him last year, so that was big for him.”

DeSorbo says that Conover and her brother get along “really well” since they’re the same age and both lawyers. “They gang up on me, which is fine because I'm stronger,” she adds.

Later this year, fans can catch DeSorbo in her vacation element when she hits the road with Hannah Berner for their Giggly Squad podcast tour.

“That’s a real Vacation Paige mode,” DeSorbo says. “I’m with by best friend, who knows what shenanigans we get into any city, so we’re really excited.”
